It is out

Tenebris Somnia is out. It released on 16 October 2026, after nearly four years of development and filming, and you can play it now.

It is a 2D retro survival-horror adventure in the vein of Silent Hill and Resident Evil, drawn in an 8-bit or 16-bit style. You solve puzzles, fight hostile creatures, and reach live-action scenes filmed by an award-winning crew in Argentina. The story asks what if they aren’t just nightmares.

Reviews are Very Positive: 86 positive and 3 negative, 89 in total. Those counts move as more people finish the game.

Who made it

Andrés Borghi and Saibot Studios developed Tenebris Somnia. New Blood Interactive published it. Borghi is creative director and wrote the screenplay. Tobías Rusjan is project director and programmer. Dakota Lee made the final key art.

The genres are Adventure and Indie. It is single-player, with achievements, full controller support, trading cards, a Steam Points shop reward, a recommended gamepad, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. In the US it is rated M for Mature. dejus 14 marks violence and fear, steam_germany 6 marks fantasy violence, and igrs is 13.

The Steam app is 2121510, and that build is Windows only. Mac and Linux are not included. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, GOG, and a Lost in Cult physical edition share the 16 October 2026 release. The US list price is $24.99, with a launch-window 20% discount to $19.99. That discount is not the lasting price. Console, GOG, and physical prices have not been announced. Console pricing is aimed at the Steam price, with sharper regional prices in Latin America. Owners of FAITH: The Unholy Trinity get a further discount, and a FAITH bundle from executive producer Airdorf is available. The extra discount percent has not been stated.

What the pages are for

Tenebris Somnia has 24 achievements. Each one has an official icon, a hidden or listed flag, a description, and a global unlock percent. Ten are highlighted, among them Heart of Lead, Bad Puppy, and Classics Never Die. The hidden set is Heart of Lead, Bad Puppy, Acrophobia, Devoured, VIVUS EX MORTIBUS, and RENUNTIATIO. Unlock rates move as more runs finish. The percents here are the launch-window figures.

You play Julia, performed by Clara Kovacic. The four endings are SOLVE ET COAGULA, MAGNUM OPUS, VIVUS EX MORTIBUS, and RENUNTIATIO. After the Aurifer, spare every Relicta and the last fight is Lacuna, on the way to SOLVE ET COAGULA. Kill one Relicta and the last fight is Hermes, on the way to MAGNUM OPUS. How to reach endings 3 and 4 is still unknown. Those two stay hidden.

Eight creatures are named: Vorax, Sanguis, Carnitos, Obscuratus, Fumus, Lacuna, Hermes, and Relicta. Each achievement tells you what that creature asks you to do. No health, damage, or map coordinates are known for them.

Twenty-five puzzles run from the door puzzle in Ivan’s apartment through the Desiderium finale. The first nineteen are in Ivan’s building, and the last six are in Desiderium. Along the way you meet the TV remote, the film canisters, and, in Desiderium, the green candle. Solution steps are written up in the Gamer Social Club walkthrough.

Key moments cut to live-action with real actors and practical effects. The launch trailer is YouTube film vvZJ2mffnU4 and Steam movie 257463818. No cast list has been published. The production names are Andrés Borghi, Tobías Rusjan, and Dakota Lee.

The iron pipe, the wrench, Lavendoleum, and the silver bottle are run constraints. Classics Never Die is picking up the iron pipe. Wrench Queen is a full run with only the wrench. Iron and wax is Obscuratus with only the wrench. Exhaust Pipe is Fumus with only the pipe. One More For The Road is drinking Lavendoleum at full health. Have You Chosen... Wisely? is filling the silver bottle by removing three save points.
